About the JLC

BIG THANKS to everyone who took part in the Junior Language Challenge 2017.

We had more than 2,000 entrants and 32 amazing finalists.

uTalk Chairman Dick Howeson says: “This really was the best year ever for us and we hope everyone went away loving languages a little bit more!”

Applications for the Junior Language Challenge 2018 will open in January. Hope to hear from many of you again then and best of luck to all the children who’ll be leaving primary school - and the JLC - behind next Summer.

The Junior Language Challenge is a national competition open to primary school age children in the UK.

Run by language learning company uTalk, it was set up to encourage children to find out how fun and easy learning languages can be.

All money raised from registration to the competition goes to uTalk’s sister charity onebillion which works to educate children in developing countries.
